Big Kids, Big Fun: TPOM’s First Older Kids Event at Urban Air!

Let’s be honest — a lot of our TPOM events are lovingly, chaotically designed around keeping the little ones entertained while the adults try to hold a conversation for longer than 45 seconds before someone needs a snack or a timeout. So when we decided to plan our very first older kids event at Urban Air, we weren’t sure what to expect.

Spoiler alert: it was an absolute blast — and we are definitely doing it again.

The Kids? Totally In Their Element.

From the moment we walked through those doors, the older twins were OFF. No hand-holding, no “stay where I can see you,” no negotiating over who gets to go down the slide first. Just pure, unfiltered kid energy let loose on every obstacle course, ropes course, and ninja warrior challenge Urban Air had to offer.

Watching them go was honestly one of the best things. They didn’t need us — and that was kind of the whole point. These kids got to just be kids, running free, taking on challenges at their own pace, and figuring things out on their own terms. It was independence in the best possible way.

Adults Actually Got to… Relax?!

Yes. You read that right. The adults got to sit down. Have a full conversation. Drink something while it was still warm. No chasing, no redirecting, no counting heads every three minutes.

For a group that’s used to being in full-on parent mode at every event, this felt borderline revolutionary. We laughed, we caught up, and we got to just watch our kids have fun instead of managing every moment of it. Honestly, this format might be our new favorite thing.

The Cutest Part? Twin Mixing Magic.

Okay, but can we talk about how absolutely adorable it was watching the different sets of twins find each other? There is something so uniquely sweet about twins gravitating toward other twins — like they just get each other in a way that’s hard to explain.

The ninja warrior course especially brought everyone together. Kids who had never met were suddenly teaming up, cheering each other on, and celebrating every completed obstacle like they’d been best friends forever. The ropes courses had kids from different families climbing side by side, and the obstacle courses turned into impromptu group challenges with the best little cheering sections on the sidelines.

New friendships were made. High fives were exchanged. It was everything.

Urban Air Delivered

Between the ninja warrior course, the ropes courses, and all the obstacle challenges in between, Urban Air gave our older kids exactly what they needed — a space big enough for their energy and exciting enough to keep them engaged the whole time. Every kid found something they loved, and more than a few discovered they were braver than they thought.

Will We Do It Again? Absolutely.

This event was such a hit that it’s basically already locked in for next year. If you missed it this time around, mark your calendars — because TPOM’s older kids event at Urban Air is officially a tradition now.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, to the kids for being their awesome selves, and to Urban Air for being the perfect venue for this crew. Here’s to more big kid adventures ahead!
